My approach


My name is Andreas Schuster, I am authorized dietician and educated chef.

 

Through consultations with more than 2000 clients with different issues, in my primary job, I found a way to work that corresponds with my fundamental conviction.

My baseline is seeing a person with a unique life story, that lays underneath the challenge, to which my help is required. Naturally, it is based on knowledge about physiology and the psychological mechanisms which we all share but it is always adapted to the individual.


I am inspired by Carl Rogers client centered approach and have engaged myself with physiological processes in the brain regarding stress and trauma, which have enormous influence on for example, weight gain or eating disorders.


The classical view on weight loss, with diet plans and restriction, was never appealing to me, neither is the view, that people are like machines that should be “repaired”. I believe that conscious change of mindset and the creation of new habits, adapted to the person’s life situation, will lead to more lasting results. That is exactly, why it is necessary with cooperation. I will be a companion on the path for as long as it is meaningful for the client. As support and sparring partner, not as the expert, who decides how things must be done. It is a learning process, which is adapted to the current situation. Often there are questions which I do not know an answer, so I have to investigate the topic, which helps me to keep myself updated and inspired to do the best I can in every case.
